So often for small business owners, marketing strategy is put in the too-hard basket. You’re unsure where to spend your marketing budget so you do bits and pieces here and there.
I get it. Digital marketing strategy (and execution) can be overwhelming for most small business owners. Knowing where to concentrate your efforts to get the most return can be a challenge. With every Tom, Dick and Harry is promising their advertising platform is the next best thing, it’s easy to get caught up in the hype. And that’s where I come in.
A freelance marketing professional experienced in digital and e-commerce marketing. I previously worked for one of the biggest and most successful e-commerce companies in the world. As such, I have an innate ability to spot an opportunity for website optimisation from a mile away.

So how do I help small businesses?
With experience in B2B, B2C, services and product marketing, I am an all round marketer. I have a Bachelors degree in Marketing and over 13 years experience in Fortune 500 corporations, including leading a team of digital marketing managers. I was managing online advertising in 2004 around the time Mark Zuckerberg was still prototyping Facebook!
Each business is at different points in their marketing but they also have a great leveller – they all want to succeed. Whether it’s a stronger and more profitable sales funnel or simply awareness of your brand, I do it all.
Some small businesses work with me just the once – perhaps for an SEO audit or on a conversion rate optimisation project. Others work with me for a few months on technical and on-page SEO techniques or PPC advertising. Then there are those who have a big hairy audacious goal and I build a marketing strategy and get it running.
And then there is the execution. It’s all very well having plans but somebody needs to do it! If it is marketing, chances are I can do it. I manage social media accounts, content strategies,new website builds, email journeys and customer life cycle management.
Why should I hire a marketing freelancer?
Hiring a marketing freelancer is a win-win solution for a small business. There’s no need to supply me with a place to sit or equipment to get the job done. I supply it all. I even have full liability insurance just for peace of mind.
Financially, using a marketing freelancer is a great option for a small business. You pay for what you use and have a marketing professional on call to pick up extra responsibilities or provide advice.
I don’t charge the big rates that marketing agencies charge because I don’t have the overheads. That’s not to say I can’t do the same things. I still have the same computer programs and ensure I stay on top of marketing trends by regularly upskilling.

Although I am a Sydney freelancer, I have just as many clients in Melbourne – and others throughout Australia. Location is really no issue.
